The Bible says in Matthew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” So when your Brother or Sister in the Lord is under an attack by the enemy, treat them the same way you would want to be treated, if you were in the same situation. Why?
- ” Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”.(Galatians 6:7) This principle lets us know that what we do towards/for others we are giving it permission to manifest in our lives. Sometimes the manifestation comes right away and sometimes it comes much later. God determines when it will come.
- “Let BROTHERLY love continue”. (Hebrews 13:1) That scripture speaks for itself!
- “A new commandment I give unto you, That you ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”. (John 13:34-35) This is an instruction that Jesus gave to His disciples.
The Prophet Elijah needed support and he told God so when he said, “…even I only am left; and they seek my life to take it away”. (1 Kings 19:14) God gave the Prophet Elijah the support that he needed but not in the way that the Prophet Elijah thought that it should come. God did not use the prophets that were hiding in the caves but he used Jehu to take down Jezebel (see 1 Kings 19:16, 2 Kings 9:30-37).
While the other prophets were hiding in caves the Prophet Elijah was engaged in spiritual warfare and due to his victory over Jezebel’s false prophets, Jezebel put a hit out on the Prophet Elijah’s life. She wanted to kill him. The Prophet Elijah was God’s man of the hour and God anointed him to take on the assignment to have a SHOWDOWN with Baal, a false god that Jezebel worshipped and served. There was a battle between God-the True God and Baal-the false god, I like to call this the “battle of the G(g)ods”.
When you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness the Devil will target you viciously . When the enemy has targeted us for a spiritual attack and he has us in his cross hairs what would we want our brothers and sisters in the Lord to do for us? Our answer to this question gives us the instructions on what to do and what NOT to do.
